Visited here about 8 yrs. ago. I don't recall the food being as good then. We had a wait of about 45 minutes. Our party had 15 people, and there was a pool convention in town. I guess that's standard. My husband and I shared the sm. garbage lid. It was more than enough, as we took some home. Waitress, Brittany was so wonderful. What a great waitress, with personality plus!! The food was not only plentiful, but delish!!!

We stopped in late for a bite to eat. The food was very good! Nice beer selection. We ordered the Kailua Brownie to take back to our hotel and the waitress/bartender told us she couldn't serve it with ice cream (that's the way it was supposed to be served) because the freezer was locked but thought we wouldn't mind paying full price. After we complained the manager gave us a discount. Should have passed on it. It was awful and ended up in the garbage.

Apparently Famous Dave's does not offer their paying bar customers a bar stool on concert night. This is ridiculous!

Very Standard and always consistent for this National Chain. We went in kind of late on a midweek night and got good service. Was very bummed to find out they were out of Brisket and Burnt Ends..... but if you know Q, you know especially when it comes to Burnt Ends you are gonna be "iffy" late in the day. Anyway, the food was very good , had several different types from sandwiches to plates. All the portion sizes were good. Sides - standard fair, Mashed Potatoes were good as was the Jalepeno Mac n Cheese. Don't worry, if you don't like spicy this is not too terribly spicy, you will probably still enjoy it. If in the neighborhood, definitely worth the stop.

This place rules- Especially this location. We called ahead while we were on a bus (a 12 hour bus ride). The person who called probably said that we have approximate 30 people. Well, the bus' tire blew out, so we didn't arrive to Sioux City for an hour after expected, but this place was so accomodating. They gave us the whole upstairs. The service was really efficient for having probably 30-40 people. Tons of food- You might be able to split a meal with someone. I went with BBQ chicken, and I still got two sides (had mac n cheese- YUM by the way. I think it had peas in it- Gave it a crunch, sort of) and mashed potatoes. And a couple large pieces of chicken. I asked them to sub one sauce for another, and of course it was no problem.

GOOD: The ribs are the finest I ever tasted. The sides have plenty to choose from. The portions are huge. And they are a themed restaurant. BAD: With this much food, you are sure to gain a few pounds per meal. FAV: Classic fullrack ribs with the famous dave's bbq sauce.

We had a party of 40 that they set up for us buffet style. Included brisket, chicken, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, corn on the cob and muffins. A variety of BBQ sauces to try on the table. The food was good considering what they had to do to feed us all in a reasonable time. Service was also good. Took individual drink orders. Was a little surprised to get sweet tea in Iowa. Didn't think I would have to ask for unsweetened but they switched it out quickly and was not the servers fault since I hadn't specified. I am giving a 4 star review based on feeding us all good food in a reasonable amount of time. Have not been to a Famous Dave's to order off the menu and try a more personalized service.

Had a great time here with my in-laws on a crowded Friday night. I love the southern style BBQ interior design. Great for eating in large groups, fun photo ops all around the restaurant. Even though it was busy, the male waiter did a good job of keeping up with our refills and was pleasant without showing his distress. Make sure to ring the big bell near the entrance (double doors) if you like the food (and your experience).

Surprisingly enough, for a national franchise this is pretty good food! The service is usually above average, and the wait to get in is usually short. This is the place I go in SC when I want BBQ.

For Sioux City Iowa, I would have to say it is the greatest BBQ food there. Although a franchise, it is definitely different from the other Famous Dave's that I have been to. Its clean and easy to get to. The service ROCKS!!! Cheryl was the best server and did everything to make sure I had a great experience. The Devil's Spit BBQ sauce is out of this world.

Long awaited trip to Famous Dave's ( famousdaves.com/home ) a chain BBQ restaurant found in the midwest and craved on the East Coast! We had hardly been in Iowa for 6 hours before rushing to indulge in authentic BBQ. Starting our feast with our beloved burnt ends that are so hard to find on the East Coast. Truly cooked to perfection and served as typical burnt ends should be, cubed and diced coated in a light BBQ sauce. The thin layer of fat tops a tender cut of meat that takes days to smoke to perfection. One of the fun parts of Famous Daves is their variety of sauces, from mild to blazing hot! All labeled with their unique names, Sweet & Zesty, Rich & Sassy, Texas Pit, and Devils Spit. The only sauce not pictured is Wilber's Revenge... a WILDLY hot sauce sure to seek it's revenge in one way or another. The combination platters allow you to chose the meats you want paired with the sides of your choosing. This combo plate has Memphis Ribs and tender Brisket. The ribs fell off the bones, and the brisket was slow cooked to perfection, with a tender mouth watering flavor only possible when slow cooking meat. The Brisket Sandwich, was just as delightful as the brisket slices prepared on the platter. This sandwich was topped with a light BBQ sauce, tender and shredded placed on top of a grilled bun. We ended our meal with a complementary bread pudding, due to it being BBQ week! This is not our typical choice for dessert, but we are always willing to try new items. Typically bread pudding is a very hit and miss item with a variety of flavors and textures from place to place. This particular Bread Pudding was topped with a caramelized sauce and paired with a vanilla bean ice cream. The bread pudding was perfectly prepared, sure to not be soggy, but a light fluffy texture with a creamy filling caused this bread pudding to receive all 5 stars from our table - a 5 star dessert (at a BBQ joint!) The unlikely results of a chain BBQ restaurant, seem to surprise people every visit. The truly authentic flavors and slow cooked rich smokey flavors keep bringing us back time and time again... Now only if we could get one on the East Coast!! hisandhersreviewspot.tum…

Came here for lunch and ordered the lunch special. We ordered a pulled pork and baby back ribs basket and a rib tips and brisket basket. The Carolina Pulled pork was ok, the baby back ribs were good. They were tender and nicely seasoned and fell off the bone. The rib tips were yummy. This is basically charred rib cartilage. If you are not into that you will find this a terrible item to order. It is fatty and tasty. My only thing with it is that they served me a lot of inedible pieces of just char so only half of my rib tips were edible. The brisket was good, but that and the pulled pork both felt a little premade. Broccoli and corn sides we got were normal and it comes with cornbread. Overall this place is more like a Texas Roadhouse-ish, franchised joint. However, I think their food is good for the price. I prefer more family owned, fresh cut bbq joints, but this will hold off my cravings til the next time. I would come back to eat in the area and order ribs and rib tips again, and maybe try the chicken?

For this little town, it's a solid BBQ joint. You'll definitely find better about four hours south in KC (they have restaurants there too), but for a chain, it's good food, and for Sioux City, great food.

This location of FD's continues to do a good job. The meats are smoky and seasoned. Most of the sides are good. This visit I had the rib tips. You have to be a meat-freak to like these, as you eat around a lot of tendon and some fat. But the flavor is the payoff.

Arrived on a Wednesday evening at 6:30. Game 6 of the 2013 series was being played. The door was held open for me and I was welcomed with a smile. As usual, I grabbed a seat at the bar. The lounge area is smaller in size but looks awesome and has an old time feel. The bartender, Raquel, was outstanding! Great personality and very cute (married though: ) ). Her knowledge of the menu, sauces, and food was extensive. I ordered the rib tip appetizer. It arrived promptly and was fresh. Yummy smokey flavor and the sauces were delicious. I mixed Sweet and Zesty and Devils Spit. If in the area, please stop and enjoy the great staff and fabulous food! You will not be disappointed. :))
